Exclusive #holoSerendipity Unit Interview: Kiara & Bijou

We interviewed each performing unit of the upcoming hololive English 4th Concert -Serendipity-!

Thank you for your time today! In case there are any new fans reading, could you introduce yourselves and share a bit about your channel?

Kiara: “I am Takanashi Kiara from hololive English -Myth-! I was the 2nd one to debut from my gen in September 2020!! Wow… it’s already been 6 years!! In these past 6 years I have played many games, often for long hours, and lots of RPGs specifically, as well as done a lot of music and performances! Sometimes I do some very creative streams like acting with sockpuppets that I made, cooking meals, or ironing clothes with a camera on. I speak English and Japanese fluently, but I am from Austria, so I speak German as my mother tongue.”

Bijou: “BIBOO BIBOO! I’m Koseki Bijou, sparkling gem of hololive English -Advent-! You may already know me as BIBOO though~ Nice to meet you! It might be quite evident when you check out my channel but… I LOVE PLAYING GAMES! Not only that, I love sharing my gaming experiences with others! So I hope I see you around~”

The upcoming hololive 4th Concert -Serendipity- is just around the corner, and you must be busy! What part of concert preparation have you been enjoying the most so far?

Kiara: “I think the songs I am involved in this time are all very difficult in terms of choreography and vocals… lots of intricate, fun songs!!!”

Bijou: “Mmm…I feel like I am still working to improve my voice and vocal technique. So I’ve been enjoying learning songs and seeing the progression of my voice compared to last year. Even now I can tell that there’s a difference!”

How have the rehearsals for the show been going? Have you faced any memorable challenges along the way?

Kiara: “Preparations have been overlapping with my own birthday live preparations, since it’s only 2 days after the EN concert… so that is a big challenge for me right now!! But I am feeling confident now – Things are finally all falling into place!”

Bijou: “Ehehehe…Biboo may have picked things that may seem daunting…BUT I’M ALWAYS UP FOR A CHALLENGE. I’m totally treating concert prep like a boss that I have to run my head against over and over again.”

We’d love to hear the first impressions you had of your unit partner! What did you think when you first met her?

Kiara: “Honestly, me and Bijou have some similarities in game interests and memeing about 67 and all that…but I think we also have so many differences, especially visually, and in music direction etc. So I was not sure how we would mesh well together – it is definitely an unusual match up for me but I think it’s gonna be really awesome! I picked a song for us that I think Bijou was very very excited for too the moment it came up so we are really looking forward to showing you all what we got prepared!!!! And then perhaps afterwards, our unit will feel like the most natural, obvious thing that should have been a thing since way before!!”

Bijou: “Her hips. They don’t lie. I want to learn how to be…more womanly…like her…”

So far, we’ve had 3 concerts for hololive English overseas. Thinking back, what is your earliest memory on a project together with your unit partner? How did you feel when working together?

Kiara: “I think my earliest memory of working together with Bijou was when I had her and the rest of Advent in my show HOLOTALK! I was so excited about their debuts and thought they had so much great potential, and I mean look at them today! Obviously they have grown so much and so has Bijou. She really has turned out to be a great entertainer with a good eye for certain things – she is also very friendly and up for anything so working together has been very smooth so far!”

Bijou: “Maybe not the earliest, but the most memorable was when she asked me to perform a song with her and AME! It was such an IDOLY song…and the choreography was one of the hardest I’d ever learned at the time. Kiara was really encouraging and helpful since she was more experienced in learning dances than me and I felt really motivated to keep up and do my best!!”

What is the trait about your unit partner that you really admire and why?

Kiara: “She has so much charm!!! She just has this natural way in her acts and speech that make people love her, and she brings excitement, a fresh wind, and passion to what she does. I made this joke at her debut on Twitter already but it was pretty good so let me say it again… COVER has really found a hidden gem, haven’t they?”

Bijou: “She slay…queen….I want to slay…queen…I ADMIRE HER CONFIDENCE!!”

How would you describe your unit dynamic to someone who is new to hololive English?

Kiara: “Currently we might be very annoying. 6 7 6 7 6 7 6 7……………………….. Sorry……….”

Bijou: “r…r…ROKU NANA~ I mean….rokku wawa :D”

What are you looking forward to the most, coming together as a unit? Do you share any goals for your performance?

Kiara: “… making the crowd do 67? Uh… But also! Show that together we can do more than just meme!!! We might just become a crowd favorite with our performance!!! I have confidence!!!!”

Bijou: “I want to embrace my more ~bold and charismatic~ side alongside Kiwawa! And also…maybe some ragebaiting :D”

So, without spoiling the show, do you have any hints you can share about the performance?

Kiara: “It’s like… yin and yang! ”

Bijou: “TEEHEE~ c: and.. HEHE >:D”

Kiara: “ROCKU WAWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA”

Bijou: “PEBBLES! YOU KNOW BY NOW BUT I’LL SAY IT AGAIN…I’LL ROCK IN AND MAKE THIS MOMENT MEMORABLE, SO WATCH ME SHINE BRIGHT OKAY? BIBOO BIBOO!”
